Fragrant basmati rice infused with real Pahadi Saffron, ghee, and whole spices a golden, restaurant-style side that pairs with any main course.
This saffron rice is made by soaking fragrant strands in warm milk or water, then cooking them into fluffy basmati rice along with ghee and whole spices like cinnamon and cloves. The result is a light, aromatic side dish with a naturally golden hue and delicate flavour in every grain.
Real Pahadi Saffron gives this rice its signature amber colour and subtle floral aroma, a difference no artificial colouring or essence can replicate.
Soak saffron strands in 2 tbsp warm milk for 10 minutes to release colour and aroma.
Rinse and soak basmati rice for 20 minutes, then drain well.
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan; add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and bay leaf. Sauté until fragrant (30–40 seconds).
Add drained rice and sauté gently for 2 minutes, then stir in the soaked saffron milk.
Add water and salt, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat for 12–15 minutes until fully cooked.
Let the rice rest covered for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork, garnish with fried cashews and raisins, and serve hot.
A few strands change everything colour, aroma, flavour. Shop real saffron for your kitchen.
